Best ice cream in Istria

Our guests, family S. from Hamburg, consisting of the three ice cream experts Nicola, Justus and Julius and their parents, carried out an extensive test of ice cream parlours in summer 2020. Here you can find the result:

The Gelateria Italia in Rovinj deserves the positive reviews at Google and Tripadvisor. It lies a little off the tourist paths. It is owned by Italians, and according to the experts, the best Istrian ice cream can be found here.

The Istra ice cream parlour in Vrsar was also classified by our testers as really good. The marina in Vrsar also attracts with its charm.

In Pula they recommend the Gelateria Fortuna, also this ice cream parlor is rather offside in a side street. Tripadvisor considers it the best ice cream parlour in Pula. 

The Gelateria Salvatore in Porec is in the middle of the tourist paths, but rather inconspicuous. Tripadvisor rates this ice cream parlour as the best in Poreč. 

The Leggioro at the new shopping mall in Porec is more café than ice cream parlour, the ice cream is "ok".

Since no longer entirely in Istria, therefore somewhat out of competition at the Gelateria Zampolli in Trieste there are only scoops, no ice creations or any kind of magic. The ice cream is excellent.

The previous favourite and therefore reference of the Istrian challengers is an ice cream parlour in Italy, the Gelateria Dolcemente from San Mauro Pascoli (Emilia-Romagna). Their ice cream / ice cream creations are considered by our experts to be unequalled.
